A Mom. A Small Business Owner. A Community Advocate. Your State Representative.

Jessica Dixon Heitman has built her life around family, community and bringing people together to solve problems.

Jessica and her husband are raising their three daughters in the community they call home. Like parents across the 97th District, Jessica understands what families are experiencing: rising costs, property taxes, the challenge of balancing work and family, and the desire to give our children every opportunity to succeed.

Before entering public service, Jessica built a career in public relations and communications and owned a small business that helped nonprofit organizations advocate for the communities and people they serve.

That experience taught Jessica an important lesson: the best solutions usually start by listening.

On July 20, 2026, Jessica was appointed to serve as State Representative for Illinois’ 97th House District. She approached the job the same way she has approached everything else in her career—by listening, building relationships and focusing on practical solutions.

Jessica believes Springfield needs more leaders interested in getting things done than getting attention.

She is committed to lowering costs for working families, strengthening public schools, supporting first responders, helping small businesses grow, improving local infrastructure and ensuring state government operates transparently and responsibly.

For Jessica, public service isn’t about ideology. It is about making government work better for the people it serves.
